The History of the Villa

For three centuries, Cà Diedo has guarded stories of families, visions, and rebirths. Born in the heart of Cusinati as a noble residence, it later became a botanical garden, a place of family memories, and finally a space of new hospitality. Each era has left its mark, weaving elegance and passion, up to the present day, where the villa continues to live suspended between past and future.

Early 16th Century – The Birth of a Name

At the dawn of the 1600s, in the heart of Cusinati, a Venetian villa destined to mark the history of an entire community was born. It was the Diedo family who desired its elegance and solidity, giving the place a name that still preserves its memory today: Cà Diedo. A beginning made of nobility and vision, suspended between land and history.

19th Century – The Legacy of Alberto Parolini

In the 1800s, Alberto Parolini, a renowned botanist, enriched the villa with an extraordinary park. He introduced rare species such as American sequoias, brought by the English naturalist John Ball, and created a pond with a small hill, transforming Cà Diedo into a green oasis that united science, beauty, and harmony with nature.

20th Century – Villa Diedo Favaretti

A new century, a new name. The villa passed to the Favaretti family, who renamed it “Villa Zoe” in homage to a beloved presence. In the 1960s, the park came alive with games, laughter, and bicycles under the moonlight, while in the 1980s the ancient stables were transformed into a reception hall. A family story renewed, suspended between private memory and social life.

2022 – The dream of Guglielmo and Anna's family

In 2022, Guglielmo di Somma and his wife Anna, together with their family, chose to write a new chapter for the villa. Through careful restoration, they brought it back to its original splendor and, together, gave life to “Resort Il Delicato”, a seafood restaurant where Guglielmo himself leads the kitchen. A rebirth that intertwines history, passion, and contemporary vision.
